Welcome to the History of Chesterville and |
||||||||||||||||||||||||
It wasn't until just recently, when I discovered that a very well known and well to do member of this village was actually on the R.M.S. Titanic when it went down, some 90 years ago. The Allison family consisting of, Hudson J Allison age 30, his wife Bess Waldo age 25 and there daughter Loraine age of 3 years were lost at sea on that night. A son, Hudson Trevor survived that night with the aid of his nanny. He also passed away at an early age of 19. From reports that I have found, Hudson J and his son Hudson Trevor have been laid to rest at the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Chesterville, Ontario. Visitors come from all over to see the last resting place of some of the victims of that tragic night. We will include a few pictures of this resting place also for those that are into the whole story and a actual list of all the passengers etc., we will include a link to what we found to be a really great site. Click on the Titanic picture below to travel to this site. |
